The house edge in roulette varies slightly between the American and European versions of the game. The American version has a double zero on the wheel, which dramatically increases the probabilities of losing bets and raises the house edge to 2.70%. The European version, on the other hand, only includes a single zero, which slashes the house edge to 1.35%.
