Roulette – Also Known As Roullete

Roulette, also known as Roullete, is a casino game that offers players numerous betting options based on the numbers they choose to place bets on. These bets may cover individual numbers, various groups of numbers, the color red or black, whether they are odd or even, and so forth.

A Roulette wheel is a solid, convex-shaped disk with a circumference fitted with metal separators or frets. These compartments, called ‘canoes’ by roulette croupiers, are numbered nonconsecutively from 1 to 36. A second set of compartments, painted green and carrying the numbers 0 and 1, forms the other half of the wheel. A ball is spun inside the wheel and, when it stops at a number on your wagered column choice you win.

While there are several roulette variants, the most common in physical casinos and online platforms is European Roulette. This game is preferable to the American variant since its house edge scales down to a coveted 2.7%, making it one of the most popular casino games in the world.

Another Roulette variation that is available to play is the French Roulette. This game differs from the American version mainly because of its two additional rules; en prison and la partage. These two terms translate to ‘in prison’ and’sharing’ respectively and allow players to get back half of their lost even money bets if the ball stops on zero.
